A stand fan that operates off 12vdc. Why 12vdc? Because I have 2 massive truck batteries I thought were bad but are actually good. Why do you have 2 massive truck batteries you thought were bad but are actually good? Because I have a car that chews through batteries for some odd reason and a truck that was doing the same so I replaced the batteries and they fell flat before long and my AC and dash cam were cycling odd but turns out it was my alternator after all!
So why do- you know the original question I’m not typing it again. Hampton Roads, hit by hurricane Is-something yesterday. Been without power since 6 am. Great news for someone working remotely and an online student. It’s 80° freedom units and 80% humidity with 0 wind. So those 12v batteries would do great powering some fans.
I have 5v battery packs, skookum 13000mah packs at that, but those are for my phone and surface tablet so I can do job responsibilities. AnyDesk for the win.

My next bugout mod is another bag. I am splitting my BOB into 3 separate smaller/portable bags.

Let me guess you ended up with an 80lb seabag, while fully sustainable for any condition, can barely be moved in the event of an emergency?

12vdc is so useful and easy to w ork with . I’ve lived with it for 15-years aboard Sparrow. All her systems (radios, lights, monitors, pumps, fans, etc) are 12vdc. The only thing I use a 110vac inverter for is the blender stick. I’ve replaced blown battery packs on cordless tools with wire and a cigarette lighter jack . Since the longest the w ire needs to be is <20', this works here. But the draw can be up to 30amps for a DeWalt impact drill! Modern 20v tools work just fine on 12vdc which is actually more like 14 with prope rly charged batteries. A small buck converter takes this to 19.5 for laptops, too.
T.Edison was a strong DC proponent (with neighborhood powerplants) but lost out to Westinghouse’s AC and distant generation.

The seabag is probably around 50lbs right now. My plan leave the emergency supplies (food/medical/water) in the Seabag while having a duffel bag of misc. PPE and a separate security bag
